About the Role Our client, a leader in cloud-based solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join their innovative team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. This role is critical in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining our client's infrastructure and deployment processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments, primarily on AWS. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of CI\/D/C pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, and monitoring tools. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to enhance system performance, improve deployment frequency, and ensure the stability of our client's services in Vereeniging. Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage CI\/D/C pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (Ia C) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Automate operational tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across the infrastructure.
- Stay updated with the latest Dev Ops trends and technologies, and advocate for their adoption where beneficial.
- Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, EKS).
- Proficiency with CI\/D/C tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Circle CI.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Power Shell.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system administration.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
