Senior DevOps Engineer (DV)
Summary
Senior DevOps engineer building and operating secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure for UK defence and government programmes: designing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform/Ansible), managing Linux, Docker/Kubernetes workloads across AWS/Azure/GCP, and improving monitoring, reliability and security. Active DV clearance is required.
In this role you will help build and operate secure cloud and on‑premises environments for UK defence and government programmes. You will collaborate with a capable engineering team to design reliable, scalable systems, automate deployments, and strengthen security. The work centers on modern infrastructure, CI/CD, and large‑scale secure platforms. You’ll tackle meaningful challenges that impact critical national systems and mission success.
Responsibilities- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Manage Linux-based infrastructure
- Support AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environments
- Automate deployment and operational processes
- Deploy and support containerised apps using Docker and Kubernetes
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues
- Improve reliability, scalability and security across platforms
- Active DV Clearance (eDV or UKIC DV)
- Commercial DevOps/Platform/Infrastructure Engineering experience
- Strong Linux administration skills
- Experience with CI/CD tooling
- Terraform, Ansible or similar IaC tools
