Summary: We are seeking a Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to design and manage AWS infrastructure, enhancing operational standards and automating processes while ensuring cloud architecture stability and security.

Responsibilities:

• Working within a team of 5 Devops / Infrastructure Engineers

• Ownership of AWS infrastructure, improve architecture and operational standards, automate manual processes, and help move existing infrastructure toward Infrastructure as Code.

• Improving stability, security, automation, observability, and cloud architecture across our hybrid infrastructure.

• The environment contains both modern cloud-native workloads and existing infrastructure that has evolved over time. An important part of the role will therefore be helping us standardize, document and automate existing infrastructure, including bringing manually created resources under Infrastructure as Code management.

• Going from architecture discussions directly into AWS, Linux, Kubernetes or Terraform and implementing the solution yourself. We are looking for someone who is practical and highly hands-on rather than purely architectural.

• Challenging existing solutions and proposing better approaches when it comes to cloud architecture, security, reliability, automation and operational efficiency.
  

Must Haves:

• The ideal candidate has several years of experience operating business-critical AWS environments and can independently take technical ownership of complex infrastructure and DevOps topics.

• AWS cloud architecture maintenance and improvement (we’re looking for a hands-on engineer, not an Architect)

• AWS EKS / Kubernetes / Docker / containers management

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

• Importing and migrating manually created AWS resources into Terraform / IaC

• Infrastructure automation and configuration management

• CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab and/or Octopus Deploy

• Bash and Python scripting

• Monitoring and observability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Zabbix

• Experience with other modern monitoring and observability platforms is highly valued

• Centralized logging and production troubleshooting

• AWS networking, VPCs, routing, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity

• Cloud and infrastructure security

• IAM, roles, policies, and least-privilege access

• Vulnerability management, patching, and security hardening

• Backup, disaster recovery, availability, and platform reliability

• Incident handling and root cause analysis

• Cost awareness and optimization of AWS environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience with other monitoring platforms beyond Grafana and Prometheus

• Background in incident handling and root cause analysis

• Knowledge of AWS cost optimization strategies
