Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer for a growing technology team, working fully remote from anywhere in Italy. Day to day: evolving CI/CD pipelines, observability and reliability, and managing Kubernetes environments (OpenShift, GCP/GKE) across cloud and on-prem infrastructure, plus IaC, virtualization, and mentoring.
Senior DevOps Engineer (IoT Focus)
Location: Remote, Italy-based candidates only
The role
We are supporting a growing technology team that is looking to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer to help design, improve, and scale modern cloud and on-premise platforms.
This role would suit someone with a strong DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability background who enjoys working across Kubernetes environments, cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, and large-scale application platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and evolve CI/CD and software delivery processes
- Enhance platform observability, monitoring, and reliability
- Manage and optimise Kubernetes environments across cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Support high-availability and high-traffic applications
- Contribute to infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives
- Help drive DevOps best practices across engineering teams
- Mentor junior colleagues and share technical knowledge
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies where appropriate
Requirements
- Previous experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, including Red Hat OpenShift
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and GKE
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Good knowledge of Linux environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling
- Experience managing virtualised environments (VMware and/or KVM)
- Experience supporting high-scale, high-traffic applications
- Experience with Apache Kafka or other message broker technologies
- Scripting or programming experience
