Project

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the API Portal platform, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. The role includes managing AWS-based infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, supporting containerized applications, improving observability, and providing production support. You will collaborate closely with software engineers to streamline deployment processes and enable efficient software delivery across multiple environments.

Responsibilities You'll Have

• Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Build, optimize, and support Docker-based deployments
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Manage GitLab runners and build infrastructure
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues
• Ensure platform security through IAM and least-privilege practices
• Support platform reliability, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives

Expected competences and knowledge

• Strong hands-on AWS experience (EC2, ALB, IAM, VPC, ECR, SSM Parameter Store, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, S3, KMS, ACM, Auto Scheduling, SES, WAF, OpenSearch)
• Practical experience with multi-environment releases on AWS, as well as GitLab Runner autoscaling and build infrastructure
• Solid Docker and containerisation knowledge
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
• Practical GitLab CI/CD experience, including pipeline design
• Knowledge of Datadog, CloudWatch, monitoring, alerting, and log analysis
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of platform security and access management
• Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams

Nice to Have

• CloudFormation experience (hybrid environment)
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry
• Experience with OpenSearch / Elasticsearch operations
• Experience with AWS WAF administration and monitoring
• AWS cost optimisation experience
• Synthetic monitoring and RUM experience
• Experience with JVM-based web applications
• Incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational excellence practices
