Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS) job vacancy in Cape Town.
PBT Group is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative technology team delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions and modern software delivery practices.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Cape Town, with a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in-office.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automation, with a proven ability to design, implement and optimise secure, scalable cloud environments.
Key Requirements:
- Strong senior-level DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience
- Extensive hands-on AWS experience
- Strong CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Docker & Kubernetes
- Strong Linux and scripting experience – Bash, Python or PowerShell
- AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, IAM and CloudWatch
- Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and production support
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, automation and cloud security
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Ability to work closely with Developers, Architects and Infrastructure teams
- Advantageous:
- AWS certification, Helm, Ansible, Prometheus/Grafana, SonarQube and experience within microservices environments.
