About The Role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support and modernise a critical, high-availability platform delivering essential public services 24/7 nationwide and internationally. This position requires strong hands-on technical execution alongside strategic leadership. You will take ownership of cloud platform engineering, pro-code development, and vendor integrations while establishing best practices across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Azure platform engineering, infrastructure provisioning, and continuous automated deployment pipelines.
- Design and maintain robust CI/CD, automation tooling, and infrastructure as code solutions.
- Deliver high-availability integration architecture, API designs, and enterprise cloud service connections.
- Implement comprehensive observability, monitoring, and proactive incident detection using cloud-native tools.
- Drive platform reliability, security best practices, cost management, and system governance standards.
- Provide technical leadership, guide external vendor deliverables, and mentor peer engineering staff.
Skills & Experience
- Strong 24/7 enterprise PaaS, containerisation, security, monitoring, observability
- Skilled in vendor management, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, problem-solving
- Expert Azure Platform, DevOps, Bicep/Terraform, CI/CD, C#, Python development
- Strong Azure platform delivery using Azure DevOps, infrastructure as code (Bicep/Terraform), and cloud-native automation.
- Hands-on development proficiency in C#, Python, or equivalent modern languages.
- Strong implementation of cloud security practices, proactive system monitoring, and application observability frameworks.
- Proven background operating, containerising, and supporting highly integrated 24/7 enterprise applications and PaaS offerings.
- Strong communication skills to manage key vendors and engage non-technical stakeholders
- Solutions-focused mindset dedicated to solving complex technical problems, sharing knowledge, and mentoring team members.
