Senior DevOps Engineer - Scalable Platforms

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing software development company, is looking for a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team in Tembisa, Gauteng, ZA . This role is crucial for building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure that supports the company's cutting-edge software products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to streamline the software development lifecycle.
• Implement and manage security best practices within the infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Automate operational tasks and continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a related infrastructure engineering role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and monitoring tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities suitable for a hybrid work environment.
