Senior DevOps Engineer
Responsibilities
- Analyze Module specifications work with developers to coordinate the work, track the progress of the work
- Translate business requirements into detailed DevOps solution designs.
- Building and maintaining automation pipelines and workflows (via CI/CD solutions like Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
- Prepare/Review changes to configurable items, which include hardware, software, documentation, etc. It covers configuration management planning, configuration identification, configuration controls & audits
- Containerizing applications and managing container clusters and registries. Performing root cause analysis on defects and outages to prevent recurrences.
- Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and disruption to operations
- Integrating and analyzing application performance metrics and logs using tools like Splunk, Nagios or Dynatrace
- Handle incident management processes and tools, application monitoring metrics and tooling to generate reports and take corrective actions
- Follow standards and best practices to bring operational efficiencies, stability and availability of the system
- Use continuous delivery practices to evolve and support high-quality software, and bring value to end customers as early as possible while working in collaborative, value-driven teams to build innovative customer experiences for enterprise customers
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, breaking down barriers for the team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Work with developers to Investigate all reported problems/errors & initiate amendments & testing so that the system can operate correctly & efficiently
- Ensure DevOps practices comply with Telecom sector security guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience implementing applications solutions in AWS, Azure Cloud or Private Cloud
- Experience in DevOps practices must possess ample knowledge and experience in system automation, deployment, and implementation.
- Experience in handling distributed data systems and container architecture. Examples: Elastisearch, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Hadoop, and others
- Experience working with application monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana, understand the different metrics that go with it and can generate reports and take corrective actions.
- Experience using scrum-based software development tools like JIRA, Bitbucket and confluence.
