Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (Node.js & AWS)

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer who is equally comfortable writing application and infrastructure code and managing production systems. This role combines 50% backend software development with 50% cloud infrastructure and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development (~50%):
  
• Design, build, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, internal tools, and platform utilities using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Develop deployment automation, database backup routines, scheduled jobs, and operational workflows.
• Work with Next.js to build internal administration tools and engineering interfaces.
• DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure (~50%):
  
• Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI) for Next.js web applications and Node.js backend microservices.
• Oversee production deployments for Next.js applications hosted on Vercel (previews, environment variables, domains, build settings).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or SST.
• Implement monitoring, centralized logging, alerting, tracing, and incident response.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 58 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on coding proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and Node.js.
• Proven experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and container workflows (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Practical experience deploying and managing Next.js apps on Vercel or similar serverless platforms.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and CI/CD automation tools.
