Senior DevOps Platform Engineer

Role & Purpose

The Senior DevOps Platform Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, administration, and operational support across the organization's DevOps toolchain. The role partners with Development, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to support platform migrations, drive automation, ensure service reliability, and establish a sustainable BAU support model.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and architectural guidance across DevOps platforms and migration activities.
• Administer, support, and optimize tools including GitHub, Nexus, Sonatype, Aspera, and related platforms.
• Develop runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
• Automate processes using Ansible, Bash, Python, and other scripting tools.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and automated deployments.
• Manage and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Monitor platform performance, availability, and system health.
• Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and networking issues, including DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Ensure integration between development, quality, and security tooling.
• Support SOC2, audit, security, and compliance requirements.
• Mentor and train BAU support teams to ensure successful operational handover.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and architecture reviews.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

Experience

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure roles.
• Experience supporting enterprise development and DevOps toolchains.

Technical Skills

• GitHub, Nexus, Sonatype, Aspera, CI/CD, GitHub Actions.
• Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), cloud infrastructure.
• Ansible, Bash, Python automation and scripting.
• Networking fundamentals including DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.

Compliance & Governance

• Knowledge of SOC2, security controls, and operational governance.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
