Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have
• 6-12 years of Infrastructure Operations experience with strong hands-on expertise in Linux Platform Engineering and DevOps, supporting enterprise-scale environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Extensive experience in RHEL, SUSE, CentOS, Ubuntu, and enterprise Linux administration, including server build, configuration, lifecycle management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and platform modernization.
• Strong expertise in Linux patch management, vulnerability remediation, OS hardening, compliance, audit readiness, access management, and secure infrastructure operations.
• Proficient in DevOps and automation tools, including Bash, Python, Ansible, Shell scripting, CI/CD concepts, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated server provisioning, patching, and operational workflows.
• Deep knowledge of Linux OS internals, kernel tuning, LVM, file systems, networking, systemd services, log analysis, capacity management, RCA, along with working experience in IBM AIX administration, PowerVM/VIOS, LPAR management, AIX LVM, patching, and performance monitoring.
Good-to-Have
• Experience with Linux High Availability, Clustering, and DevOps-driven resiliency solutions, including Pacemaker, Veritas Cluster, failover automation, disaster recovery, and business continuity implementations.
• Strong exposure to DevOps, Monitoring, Logging, and Observability platforms, including ELK, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, SIEM integrations, log forwarding, alert automation, incident management, and proactive infrastructure monitoring.

Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role
1 Design, build, administer and support enterprise Linux platforms across physical, virtual and hybrid environments, ensuring availability, stability, performance and security compliance.
2 Implement and support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, container platforms, and automation frameworks to improve deployment efficiency and platform reliability.
3 Automate recurring operational tasks using Bash/Python and configuration management tools to reduce manual effort, improve consistency and accelerate incident resolution.
4 Troubleshoot complex Linux platform issues related to compute, storage, network, file systems, kernel parameters, application dependencies, performance bottlenecks and service failures.
5 Provide secondary support for AIX environments, participate in HA/DR readiness activities, maintain operational documentation and collaborate with application, storage, network and security teams.
