Senior Digital Product Marketing Specialist

This role drives digital marketing programs that increase awareness, engagement, adoption, retention, and renewals for leading online subscription products. You will own end-to-end lifecycle email programs while developing integrated campaigns across email, paid media, landing pages, and social channels. The position combines product marketing expertise with hands-on marketing automation, audience segmentation, and campaign optimization. You will translate complex scientific and regulatory topics into clear, compelling messages for specialized B2B audiences. Working cross-functionally with Product Management, Customer Success, and other stakeholders, you will help shape product positioning and customer communications. This is an individual contributor role suited to a data-driven marketer who enjoys taking ownership and continuously improving digital experiences.
Accountabilities:
- Own end-to-end email marketing and lifecycle programs, including nurture flows, product announcements, release communications, renewal journeys, and newsletters.
- Build and optimize automated nurture journeys, audience segmentation strategies, and scoring models using marketing automation platforms such as Marketo.
- Monitor email program health, including deliverability, list hygiene, unsubscribe rates, and engagement, and take corrective action when needed.
- Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across the customer lifecycle, from acquisition and activation through retention and renewal.
- Develop audience-specific content for customer segments such as quality control and assurance, regulatory affairs, research and development, and specialized industry professionals.
- Create compelling content for email campaigns, newsletters, landing pages, social media, and other digital channels.
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid media campaigns, including targeting, budgeting, creative direction, performance monitoring, and agency coordination when required.
- Monitor campaign performance through KPIs, dashboards, and analytics tools, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Conduct A/B testing across subject lines, content, landing pages, calls-to-action, and other campaign elements to improve engagement and conversion.
- Maintain accurate campaign documentation, reporting, performance summaries, and marketing records for internal stakeholders.
- Manage a detailed cross-channel content calendar aligned with product release cycles and marketing priorities.
- Schedule and publish social media content using tools such as Hootsuite while coordinating reviews, approvals, and asset delivery.
- Serve as the marketing point of contact across Product Management and Customer Success, ensuring alignment on messaging, timing, audiences, and campaign execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in digital marketing, product marketing, or email marketing, preferably in a B2B or subscription-based environment.
- Hands-on experience owning lifecycle email programs from planning through execution and optimization, including nurture, product announcement, and renewal campaigns.
- Proficiency with marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, including segmentation, dynamic content, and journey development.
- Strong understanding of B2B funnel metrics, attribution models, and CRM/marketing automation integrations such as Salesforce and Marketo.
- Demonstrated experience marketing subscription or renewable products, including retention, renewal campaigns, and lifecycle analytics.
- Ability to translate complex technical, scientific, or regulatory subjects into clear, compelling, benefit-focused marketing narratives.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, scientific, healthcare, nonprofit, or other regulated industries is preferred.
- Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot to improve workflows and support automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work independently as an individual contributor while maintaining strong alignment with cross-functional partners.
- For remote work, candidates must reside in one of the following states: Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, West Virginia, California, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Florida, North Carolina, or Minnesota.
- Base salary range of $86,860–$110,026 annually.
