As a Senior Digital Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of large, complex digital and technology initiatives that support the Port's strategic objectives and operational performance. Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you will provide leadership in project delivery, governance, stakeholder engagement, financial management, and change management to ensure successful outcomes.
Beyond project delivery, you will help strengthen project management capability across the Port by contributing to delivery standards, mentoring team members, and supporting the ongoing maturity of the Digital Delivery function. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to lead change effectively within a complex 24/7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large, complex digital and technology projects from initiation through to successful implementation.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, governance, risks, and dependencies.
- Lead project governance forums, steering committees, and executive reporting processes.
- Build business cases and investment proposals that clearly articulate value, benefits, risks, and delivery considerations.
- Manage project financial performance, forecasting, procurement activities, and vendor relationships.
- Drive organisational change and stakeholder engagement to support successful adoption and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with business leaders and operational teams to secure resources and align project priorities.
- Ensure delivered solutions are successfully transitioned into operational support and business-as-usual environments.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of project delivery standards, tools, templates, and ways of working.
- Mentor and coach project managers, helping build capability and delivery excellence across the Digital team.
ABOUT YOU | Ko wai koe
You are an experienced project leader who combines strong delivery discipline with excellent people skills. You build trusted relationships quickly, navigate complexity with confidence, and bring others along on the journey through collaboration, influence, and clear communication.
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent.
- 10+ years' experience delivering large, complex technology projects and programmes.
- Experience managing significant project budgets, financial governance, and vendor relationships.
- Proven success leading enterprise-wide technology initiatives within complex organisations.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with executive leaders and governance forums.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
