Senior Director of Investor Relations

You will lead the investor relations program and shape the company’s investment narrative. You will prepare quarterly earnings materials, engage institutional investors and sell-side analysts, manage investor conferences and investor day planning, and advise executive leadership and the Board on market sentiment. You will also build shareholder relationships, deliver board reporting, monitor competitive intelligence, coordinate accurate disclosures across functions, and scale investor-relations processes and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of quarterly earnings materials, including press releases, supplements, executive scripts, and Q&A
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for institutional investors and sell-side analysts
  • Own investor conference strategy, calendar, and investor day planning
  • Develop and refine the long-term investment thesis, messaging frameworks, and financial narratives with the CFO and CEO
  • Build and maintain relationships with long-only funds, hedge funds, and index/passive holders
  • Lead 13F analysis and proactive shareholder outreach
  • Provide board-level reporting on shareholder composition, activist monitoring, peer benchmarking, and market sentiment
  • Advise senior leadership on market interpretation of results and strategy
  • Monitor payments and fintech developments, sell-side research, and peer disclosures
  • Partner with FP&A, Legal, Accounting, and Corporate Communications on investor-facing materials and public disclosures
  • Implement processes, tools, and systems to scale the investor relations function, leveraging AI for efficiency

Requirements

  • Finance, economics, accounting, or related degree
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, FP&A, or institutional investing
  • Meaningful investor relations track record at a publicly traded company
  • Financial modeling, narrative development, and executive-level communication experience
  • Familiarity with payments, fintech, or transaction-based business models
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of equity valuation methodologies, capital markets dynamics, and institutional investor behavior
  • Experience building relationships with buy-side investors and sell-side analysts at a publicly traded company
  • Bay Area location or willingness to relocate
  • Ability to travel regularly
