This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Product - Threat Intelligence & Detections based in United States.
This is a senior product leadership role responsible for shaping the strategy and roadmap for threat intelligence, threat hunting, and detection capabilities. You will help translate evolving cyber threats and emerging technologies into products and platforms that improve security outcomes for customers. The role combines deep cybersecurity expertise with executive-level product management, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership. You will work closely with Architecture, Engineering, Security Research, Sales, and other teams to align priorities and turn long-term strategy into execution. A key focus will be advancing detection efficacy and efficiency while exploring innovative applications of AI across cybersecurity. You will also influence organizational direction, mentor product leaders, and represent the threat intelligence and detection portfolio with senior stakeholders.
Accountabilities:
- Define and communicate the strategic vision, commercial strategy, and product roadmap for threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering, and related AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
- Present product vision, strategic priorities, and roadmap direction to executive leadership, product teams, engineering leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Partner with Architecture and Security Research leadership to assess emerging capabilities and determine when new threat intelligence or detection technologies can deliver differentiated value through new products or platforms.
- Oversee the incubation and development of breakthrough threat detection capabilities designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of security products and security operations.
- Lead cross-functional product initiatives from strategic planning through execution, fostering experimentation, rapid iteration, threat validation, and customer-focused innovation.
- Collaborate across Security Research, Engineering, Sales, Go-to-Market, and product organizations to build alignment, secure buy-in, and ensure effective execution of the threat intelligence and detection roadmap.
- Commission research into emerging cybersecurity problems, evolving threat landscapes, and potential strategies for addressing customer security needs.
- Establish and monitor OKRs for threat intelligence, threat hunting, and detection initiatives in support of wider business goals.
- Conduct and participate in cross-functional backlog and product-line reviews, helping identify priorities, dependencies, resource requirements, and opportunities for greater organizational efficiency.
- Identify emerging threat patterns and translate research, analysis, and market insights into product strategy, roadmap decisions, and investment priorities.
- Communicate major priorities and strategic initiatives to product principals and technical leaders, ensuring that complex cybersecurity strategies are translated into actionable programs.
- Help other product organizations understand how threat intelligence, detection, and AI capabilities can strengthen security response and enhance their solutions.
- Partner with executive leadership on portfolio management, resource allocation, and long-term investments that support meaningful security and customer outcomes.
- Prepare strategic documentation, evidence of achievements, presentations, and review materials to support portfolio calibration and executive decision-making.
- Influence organizational structure and cross-team operating models while fostering transparency, collaboration, and accountability across the broader product and security organization.
- Bring 10+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years at director level or an equivalent senior leadership position managing complex, cross-functional teams and enterprise security products at scale.
- Have 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with deep expertise in threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering, incident response, security research, or closely related disciplines.
- Demonstrate a proven record of taking products from strategy through successful market launch, with measurable outcomes related to revenue, customer adoption, market expansion, or other meaningful business results.
- Possess strong executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with both highly technical and non-technical audiences about cybersecurity strategy, emerging threats, product innovation, and investment priorities.
- Demonstrate substantial knowledge of threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering, and security research practices, particularly their application to enterprise product development.
- Understand emerging AI technologies and their applications in cybersecurity; familiarity with conversational AI, large language models, and machine learning for threat intelligence or detection is a plus.
- Bring experience working with managed security services, managed detection and response, security operations centers, threat intelligence programs, or related cybersecurity environments.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in fast-growing technology organizations or security research and innovation environments focused on emerging threats and technologies.
- Have strong strategic planning, prioritization, portfolio management, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex technical strategies into clear initiatives and measurable objectives.
- Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder-management and influencing skills, including the ability to build alignment across Security Research, Engineering, Product, Sales, Go-to-Market, and executive leadership.
- Bring a collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring product leaders, influencing organizational decisions, and driving execution across matrixed teams.
- An active professional network or presence within cybersecurity, threat intelligence, security research, or relevant industry communities is desirable.
- Base salary range of 164,000–287,000 CAD annually for the applicable job family, with actual compensation varying based on skills, experience, location, and job-family level.
