Senior Drupal Developer

Salary: AUD 800 - 1000 per day, Negotiable rates available

Overview
As the Senior Drupal Web Developer, you will work within a small, dynamic web team. Your role will involve both hands-on technical development and strategic input to ensure digital platforms are secure, accessible, and high-performing.

You will bring expertise in Drupal development and a deep understanding of Australian Government operating environments, including compliance with security, accessibility, and performance standards. Collaboration is key, as you’ll liaise with internal stakeholders to translate business challenges into effective technical solutions and contribute to streamlining processes and delivering development outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Drupal websites, including custom module development and ensuring compliance with Australian Government website standards.
  • Improve website performance, security, and accessibility, with a user-centred design approach.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the development of new website features and applications.
  • Document technical requirements and support procurement processes for digital projects.
  • Prepare and publish content, ensuring compliance with best practices in web standards and accessibility.
  • Lead code review, source control, and quality assurance processes to ensure technical excellence.

Candidates with the following skills and experiences are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain Drupal websites, including custom module development and site maintenance.
  • Expertise in improving website performance, security, and analytics reporting.
  • Experience uplifting platforms to meet accessibility and usability standards, with a user-centred design focus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues, including performance and integration challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead website handoff processes and manage code review, source control, and testing frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical specialists and external service providers to meet business and technical requirements.
