Senior Electrical Designer (Bengaluru) - GFS

Burns & McDonnell India is looking for an experienced candidate to join our Global Facilities Group in Bangalore office to lead and support electrical design activities involved on Onsite Energy, Data Center, Food & Beverages, Aerospace & Industrial, Consumer life solution & Commercial projects mainly in USA. This position requires an experienced electrical designer capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. This candidate will lead design, planning and client coordination activities associated with high, medium and low voltage electrical distribution and control systems found in Onsite Energy, Data Center, Food & Beverages, Aerospace & Industrial, Consumer life solution & Commercial projects mainly in USA.

Key Responsibilities\: Position will require extensive interface with Burns & McDonnell project manager, other engineering disciplines, modelers, designers, and detailers locally in the Bangalore office as well as remotely with Mumbai office & various international offices in the United States & United Kingdom. The Senior electrical Designer will work closely with Sr. Electrical Engineer in Bangalore office, and a design team to create world class design on a variety of projects from concept design through completion of construction. Project focus would be a variety of facilities including Onsite Energy, Data Center, Food & Beverages, Aerospace & Industrial, Consumer life solution & Commercial projects mainly in USA. Specific areas of responsibility include the following\:

1. Responsible for development of 3D model and 2D drawing of various electrical systems for industrial facilities including but not limited to single line diagram of power systems, electrical equipment layout, hazardous area classification drawing, interconnection & hook-up drawing, lighting, grounding and lightning protection systems.

2. Coordinate with other disciplines and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.

3. Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget and complying with agreed project quality norms.

4. Assist more experienced engineers in preparing, coordinating and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.

5. Training new staff members on various tools and discipline practices.

6. Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.

7. A committed team player able to work on own initiative.

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

9. Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.

10. Innovative and creative mindset to develop and execute design solutions, automated scripts in design software for effective resource utilization.

11. Tools\:

§ Experience of exposure to 3D engineering tools like AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoDesk ACC Cloud, REVIT, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D and MicroStation.

§ Experience with lighting design software AGI-32, Dialux or Visual.

§ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, OneNote.
