Senior Electrical Engineer – IP Camera & Surveillance Hardware
Description
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to lead the hardware design and development of our next-generation IP camera and surveillance products. In this role, you will own the end-to-end hardware lifecycle—from schematic capture and high-speed PCB layout review to prototype bring-up, EMC debugging, and mass production handoff with our ODM partners.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Architecture & SoC Design: Design robust, high-performance IP camera platforms powered by advanced ARM-based SoCs and Image Signal Processors (ISPs).
2. Schematic & PCB Layout Review: Drive comprehensive schematic capture and collaborate closely with layout engineers on high-speed PCB design (DDR, MIPI), ensuring strict adherence to signal and power integrity guidelines.
3. Power Management & PoE Integration: Architect efficient power delivery networks, including DC-DC buck converters, LDOs, flyback converters, and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) subsystems.
4. EMC/EMI & Regulatory Compliance: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) and thermal challenges to ensure smooth global certifications (FCC, CE).
5. ODM & NPI Collaboration: Partner with ODM partners and cross-functional teams (Firmware, Mechanical, Quality Assurance) to review test plans, drive prototype bring-up, and ensure on-time product delivery.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of hands-on hardware design experience (consumer electronics, IoT, or video surveillance preferred).
- SoC & Interfaces: Strong experience with ARM-based SoCs, high-speed memory interfaces (DDR), and camera interfaces (MIPI CSI-2).
- Connectivity & Low-Speed Buses: Proficient with communication protocols including SDIO, USB, SPI, I2C, I2S, and UART.
- Power Electronics: Solid background in PoE design and DC-DC power circuits (buck converters, LDOs, and flyback converters).
- Lab Competency: Expert proficiency in operating essential EE test equipment (digital oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, electronic loads, and function generators).
- EDA Tools: Working knowledge of OrCAD Capture and Allegro Viewer.
- Communication: Fluent in English with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team mindset.
Proficient Tools:
Digital oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, electronic loads, and function generators, Orcad capture, allegro viewer.
Job Skills:
ARM based platform design, high speed signals design, DC-DC converter design. Address EMC issues.
