Senior Electrical Engineers - Substation Design
Summary
Electrical engineers deliver primary and/or secondary substation designs for high-voltage renewable energy projects (substations, BESS, wind farms) — producing SLDs, schematics, protection & control designs, and running power system studies (load flow, fault level, earthing) with tools like ETAP, PowerFactory and AutoCAD, supporting the full lifecycle from bid through commissioning.
At GGC, we're delivering some of Australia's most
significant renewable energy and power infrastructure projects, including
high-voltage substations, BESS, wind farms and utility-scale energy
developments.
As our project portfolio continues to grow, we're looking to
connect with Electrical Engineers across all experience levels who have a
strong foundation in substation primary and/or secondary design and are
passionate about delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
Whether you're an emerging engineer looking to accelerate
your career, a mid-level professional seeking greater project ownership, or a
senior engineer ready to lead complex HV infrastructure projects, we'd love to
hear from you.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll join a growing engineering team supporting projects
from early-stage design and bid development through to detailed design,
construction support, commissioning and project delivery.
Depending on your experience level, you'll contribute to or
lead the development of technical solutions for high-voltage electrical
infrastructure while working closely with clients, project managers,
construction teams and fellow engineers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering primary and/or
secondary substation designs for HV infrastructure projects.
- Developing SLDs, schematics,
protection and control designs, equipment layouts and technical documentation.
- Performing or supporting power
system studies including load flow, fault level, protection and earthing
analysis.
- Supporting projects through
design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Working closely with clients,
project teams and multidisciplinary engineering professionals to develop
practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
Requirements
ABOUT YOU
- Experience delivering primary and/or secondary substation
designs across HV infrastructure projects.
