Senior Embedded Hardware Developer
Summary
Senior embedded hardware engineer owning the full PCB design lifecycle at Smartbox Lockers — schematic capture, 4–12 layer board layout in Altium, component selection, DFM/DFT reviews, EMC/EMI compliance, and hardware bring-up and debugging — for the company's smart locker and parcel-management IoT products.
- Own the complete PCB design lifecycle from schematic capture to manufacturing release.
- Design multi-layer PCBs (4–12 layers) for embedded and IoT products using Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools.
- Develop robust schematics with proper power management, protection circuits, signal integrity, and grounding considerations.
- Lead component selection activities, balancing performance, availability, cost, and long-term supply chain requirements.
- Conduct PCB layout reviews and ensure adherence to hardware design standards and best practices.
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) reviews in collaboration with fabrication and assembly partners.
- Lead hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging using laboratory test equipment.
- Support firmware teams during board bring-up, peripheral validation, and fault diagnosis.
- Drive EMC/EMI design strategies, including filtering, shielding, grounding, and pre-compliance testing.
- Manage BOMs, Gerber files, assembly documentation, and engineering change revisions.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure successful product deployment.
- Participate in technical design reviews and mentor junior hardware engineers.
