Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who is excited by the potential of AI, automation and intelligent engineering tools?
I am supporting an innovative international technology company in Germany that develops advanced embedded solutions for next-generation automotive applications.
They are looking for a Senior Embedded Software & AI Engineer to join their R&D organisation and play a key role not only in developing embedded software and firmware, but also in helping shape how AI and automation are used across engineering teams.
This is an opportunity to combine strong C/C++ embedded development with Python, AI-assisted engineering and automation in a highly technical R&D environment.
What you'll be doing
- Develop embedded software and firmware for automotive sensor control units
- Design and implement robust embedded solutions using C/C++
- Use Python to automate engineering processes, tooling and development workflows
- Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools across R&D
- Identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve engineering productivity and software quality
- Develop and optimize internal tools, workflows and software development practices
- Work closely with engineers across embedded software, electronics, sensing and wider R&D disciplines
- Take ownership of technical initiatives and contribute ideas that can have an impact across the engineering organisation
What we're looking for
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence or a related technical discipline
- Several years of professional experience in Embedded Software / Firmware Development
- Strong programming experience with C and/or C++
- Strong Python skills
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, LLMs or AI-driven engineering solutions
- An interest in applying AI to real engineering problems, automation and developer productivity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable collaborating across different engineering disciplines
- Fluent professional English
Experience within automotive, sensors, electronics, industrial technology or another complex embedded environment would be particularly interesting.
