Senior Embedded Software Developer - Avionics

About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Developer with 8+ years of experience in real-time and safety-critical systems to develop flight software for launch vehicle avionics.

Technical Requirements :

- Embedded C/C++ (Embedded C preferred), Linux/RTOS, Device Driver Development, Microcontroller, Ethernet, SPI, I2C

- Proficiency in memory management, peripheral programming, and deterministic code under real-time constraints

- Expertise in protocols : SPI, I2C, UART, RS232/422/485, CAN, Ethernet

- Familiarity with PTP, TSN (Time Sensitive Networking), and deterministic Ethernet stacks

- Experience with build systems (Make/CMake), version control (Git), and CI/CD workflows

- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, and in-system debuggers

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in fault-tolerant architectures, watchdog recovery, and voting logic

- Exposure to safety-critical processes (DO-178C, MISRA, ASPICE)

- Experience with unit testing, static/dynamic analysis, and containerized builds (Docker)

- Prior experience in space, medical, or automotive systems

- Exposure to Rust for embedded/safety-critical systems

- Knowledge of Xilinx/AMD SoC, Python, MAC, PHY, Switching, TCP/IP, Security, Serdes, PCIe, NTB

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, integrate, and test real-time flight software for launch vehicle avionics

- Write low-level drivers and interface layers for digital communication protocols

- Implement and debug firmware on bare-metal, RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS), and embedded Linux

- Design deterministic task scheduling, state machines, and fault-tolerant logic

- Interface with sensors (IMUs, pressure, temperature), actuators, and flight computers

- Own board bring-up and debugging using lab equipment

- Collaborate with GNC, hardware, and systems engineers on control loops

- Support simulation integration (SIL/HIL) and validation efforts
