Job Description

  • Lead single-plaintiff, class action, collective action, and PAGA matters through all phases of litigation
  • Develop litigation strategy with relationship partners and take ownership of execution
  • Direct discovery and take and defend depositions
  • Work closely with expert witnesses on sophisticated employment matters
  • Draft and argue dispositive and other significant motions
  • Appear in court and represent clients in trial and arbitration proceedings
  • Lead settlement negotiations and advocate for clients during mediations
  • Prepare complex matters for trial and arbitration
  • Advise employer clients on litigation strategy, employment issues, and risk
  • Build trusted client relationships while independently managing significant matters

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing
  • 6+ years of California labor and employment litigation experience
  • Ability to independently manage significant litigation matters
  • Experience handling complex class action and PAGA matters
  • Experience with class certification, dispositive motions, expert discovery, and trial preparation
  • Experience handling single-plaintiff FEHA-related claims
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgment, initiative, and a collaborative approach
  • Employer-side employment litigation experience preferred
