About the role In this position, you will be responsible for the design, construction, enhancement, and upkeep of Docker images intended for Azure DevOps self-hosted build agents. You will also evaluate and update current build-agent Docker images by eliminating redundant dependencies, duplicate layers, caches, and obsolete tools. Additionally, you will establish a scalable and sustainable image strategy for Azure DevOps build agents utilized across various CI/CD processes.

What you’ll do

• Develop and optimize Docker images for Azure DevOps self-hosted build agents.
• Assess and modernize existing build-agent images by streamlining dependencies and removing unnecessary components.
• Formulate a scalable and maintainable strategy for images used in Azure DevOps across multiple CI/CD workloads.
• Create specialized build agent images tailored for various technology stacks, including Dot NET, Java, Node.js, and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in Docker and containerization technologies.
• Strong background in Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with various programming languages and technology stacks, particularly Dot NET, Java, and Node.js.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native development.

Nice to have

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools used in DevOps environments.
