Senior Engineer – DC Operations

About the role

The Senior Engineer is a member of the 24x7 Data Center Technical Operations team and reports to the Data Center Technical Operation Manager / Assistant Technical Operations Manager. The Senior Engineer is tier 1 support for on-premises data center services operation and requests fulfillment in Colocation services, Cross-connect services, Physical Security, Compliance, IT automation tasks and Remote-Hands / Smart-Hands services. The individual plays an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day 24x7 data center tech operations and should have experience in providing Technical Support services including Data Centre operations and service.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of critical data center infrastructure and customer services
• Monitor and coordinate activities related to power, cooling, environmental, security, and operational systems
• Perform physical inspections, troubleshooting, and incident response activities
• Support remote hands and smart hands services for customers
• Coordinate and support Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Event Management processes
• Ensure operational procedures, policies, and standards are consistently followed
• Coordinate and support compliance programs, audits, and certifications including ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, PCI-DSS, TVRA, DCOS, and TIA-942
• Maintain compliance documentation, evidence records, and audit repositories
• Act as the lead engineer for Duty DC Operations Engineers and Technicians and provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior team members
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reporting quality, compliance readiness, and system reliability

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities Operations, Technical Operations, or a similar mission-critical environment
• Experience supporting compliance audits and certification programs
• Solid understanding of Data Center Operations, including power systems, cooling systems, physical security, and IT infrastructure
• Familiarity with BMS, PMS, and monitoring platforms
• Experience in vendor management and procurement processes
• Experience preparing customer-facing and management reports
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams
