Senior Engineer (Geotechnical)
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all geotechnical aspects of construction and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct soil, rock, and groundwater investigations to evaluate site conditions and provide geotechnical design recommendations.
• Prepare and review geotechnical design reports, risk assessments, and engineering calculations (e.g., slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement analysis, retaining structures, tunneling, and deep excavation).
• Provide technical advice on ground improvement methods, foundations, shoring systems, piling, and earthworks.
• Supervise and review the work of junior geotechnical engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Carry out site inspections and monitoring (e.g., instrumentation, settlement, slope movement, groundwater level monitoring).
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and project requirements.
• Manage geotechnical risks, propose mitigation measures, and provide innovative solutions to complex ground engineering challenges.
• Prepare technical submissions, method statements, and documentation for authority approvals.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained during geotechnical works.
• Support tender preparation and provide cost and technical input for proposals.
• Any other duties that assigned by a superior.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the PE Board.
• Minimum 8 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with at least 5 years of experience in construction supervision of geotechnical work for projects of similar scale, complexity, and nature of work.
• Preferred to have an LTA/rail projects background
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design standards.
• Proficient in geotechnical design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SAFE, FLAC, or equivalent).
• Familiar with local codes, international standards, and regulatory approval processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer (PE) in Geotechnical Engineering is an advantage.
