The Senior Engineer, Information Security is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of enterprise security technologies that protect users, endpoints, identities, systems, and data. This role serves as a technical leader within the Information Security organization, partnering closely with IT, Infrastructure, Engineering, Security Operations, Identity & Access Management, Vulnerability Management, and Security Architecture teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. This position balances strategic project work, including deployment of new security technologies and capabilities, with operational responsibilities involving the support, maintenance, and optimization of existing security platforms.

The Senior Engineer will lead complex security initiatives, drive technology improvements, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the overall maturity of the organization's security program.

Position Responsibilities:

Security Platform Engineering
• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise security technologies across endpoint, identity, data protection, and monitoring domains.
• Administer and support security platforms including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), identity security, and endpoint protection technologies.
• Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend solutions that improve security posture and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain security standards, technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment guides.
• Participate in security architecture reviews and provide engineering expertise during technology selection and implementation efforts.

Project Delivery & Security Improvements
• Lead security technology deployments from planning and design through implementation and operational transition.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing operational priorities.
• Drive security platform enhancements, automation opportunities, and process improvements.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements and deliver security solutions that align with organizational objectives.
• Support Agile-based project delivery methodologies where applicable.

Operational Support & Troubleshooting
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex security platform issues.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across Windows, macOS, Linux, cloud, identity, and security technology environments.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and effectiveness while identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Coordinate upgrades, maintenance activities, and lifecycle management of deployed security technologies.
• Support incident response activities when security technologies require engineering analysis, tuning, containment support, or remediation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Security Operations to improve detection capabilities, telemetry quality, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with Identity and Access Management teams on Entra ID and identity security initiatives.
• Collaborate with Vulnerability Management teams to support remediation efforts and security control effectiveness.
• Engage with Security Architecture teams to implement strategic security initiatives and technical standards.
• Coordinate with IT Infrastructure, End User Computing, Server, Cloud, and Engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and operation of security controls.

Leadership & Mentorship
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Share knowledge through documentation, training sessions, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Contribute to the development of engineering best practices and operational standards.
• Lead technical discussions and represent Security Engineering in cross-functional initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting and administering enterprise security technologies.
• Experience implementing and managing endpoint security platforms, EDR solutions, SIEM technologies, or related security tooling.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and modern identity security concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Windows security administration for servers and endpoints.
• Working knowledge of macOS and Linux operating systems and associated security controls.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across multiple technology domains.
• Experience leading technical projects and driving initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with enterprise DLP technologies.
• Experience with cloud security technologies and modern SaaS security controls.
• Familiarity with security automation and orchestration concepts.
• Experience supporting security programs within a large enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project delivery frameworks.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, Security+, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, or equivalent.
• Experience partnering with Security Operations, Security Architecture, IAM, or Vulnerability Management teams.

Pay Range
$72,250$155,250 USD
