Senior Engineer, Java, AWS
You will design, develop and maintain Java-based automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. You will plan and execute automated and manual testing, validate trading protocols and market data, manage test environments and defects, document release evidence, and communicate quality risks across technical and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java-based automated test frameworks
- Improve automation frameworks, execution processes and CI/CD pipelines
- Build and maintain automated testing pipelines using Git and GitLab CI/CD
- Review requirements for clarity, testability and automation readiness
- Plan, develop and execute automated and manual test cases
- Validate market data, order flow and interface behaviour across trading protocols
- Support system, integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel, operational readiness and production verification testing
- Prepare test data and manage test environment dependencies
- Document test results and produce release evidence
- Log, investigate and report defects
- Communicate test status, risks and issues to technical and business stakeholders
- Contribute to automation standards and engineering practices
Requirements
- 7-9 years of automation testing experience
- API and integration testing experience across different protocols
- Strong Java automation experience
- Working knowledge of Python
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, clean coding practices and framework design patterns
- Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin and behavior-driven test automation
- Experience with system, integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel and release verification testing
- Experience with CI tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using Git and GitLab or equivalent source control
- Strong Linux and Unix command-line skills
- Experience coordinating test environments and test data
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with financial markets, exchanges or electronic trading
- Experience with FIX, ITCH and OUCH protocols
- Experience with Kubernetes and containers
- Experience with performance, resilience, failover or operational readiness testing
- Experience with JMeter or Gatling
- Experience with observability, monitoring or log-analysis tools
