Senior Engineer – Java, Software Development, AI

• Innovate and build new systems and enhance existing systems
• Lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap
• Shape the incorporation of applied AI and intelligent automation into enterprise solutions
• Provide technical and thought leadership across multiple areas and the enterprise
• Collaborate with product, domain experts, and analytics partners to translate business needs into technical designs
• Deliver high-quality software and services, including AI-augmented workflows and intelligent services
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for AI, intelligent automation, and agentic workflows
• Develop solutions using Java, C#, object-oriented languages, SQL, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services
• Work on end-to-end solutions spanning front-end implementations, API tiers, and back-end domain services
• Mentor and coach engineering and product communities and educate executives
• Design observable AI workflows using orchestration and agent patterns
• Select and rationalize AI technologies based on cost, latency, accuracy, security, and operability
• Establish production engineering patterns for evaluation, monitoring, governance, testing, quality metrics, safety, fallback behavior, and incident response

Requirements

• Exemplary ability to design and perform experiments, including AI/LLM evaluation, measurement, and iterative improvement in production
• Extensive experience shipping LLM, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions in production environments
• Strong grasp of agents, retrieval-augmented generation, classical ML, rules-based workflows, and hybrid approaches
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise services via APIs, events, authentication, and observability patterns
• Understanding of agent architectures, workflow orchestration, vector retrieval, and knowledge/context design
• Extensive full-stack application and service development experience, with focus on SaaS products/platforms
• Expertise designing and developing microservices using GraphQL, gRPC, Java, Python, Kafka, API architectures, and event-driven architectures
• Experience delivering highly resilient event-driven and messaging-based solutions at scale
• Fluency and specialization in at least two modern OOP languages such as Java, C#, C++, or Python
• Understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos, Cassandra, Apache Trino, and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle
• Fluency in test engineering and automated testing, including evaluation and regression testing for non-deterministic AI components
• 6+ years of full-stack development experience
• 4+ years of architecture and design experience
• 2+ years of applied AI, generative AI, or intelligent automation experience in production, or demonstrable ownership of AI-enabled platform capabilities
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
