Overview of the Role
As a Senior Engineer – Pega Platform, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade Pega applications. You will leverage your deep expertise in the Pega platform to architect, implement, and maintain cutting-edge solutions that support key business processes, particularly within the banking sector. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness, agility, and scalability of client operations, contributing to HCLTech’s mission of delivering best-in-class digital services.

Working hours: normal, 9:00 to 17:00 CET

Availability to travel once in quarter to client office - Netherlands
Detailed Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain advanced Pega applications, focusing on enterprise-class architecture and scalable solutions.
Lead and participate in the migration of Pega 7 to Pega 8, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
Implement and optimize Case Management, flow design, Data Pages, and Log Analysis within Pega applications.
Manage background processing tasks including Job Schedulers and Queue Processors for efficient workflow automation.
Drive integration with external systems, leveraging hands-on expertise to ensure robust and secure connectivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially in banking projects, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Conduct server, database, and node classification analysis to optimize performance and reliability.
Utilize CI/CD practices to automate deployment and testing processes.
Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies to deliver iterative and high-quality outcomes.
Perform automation testing to ensure quality and compliance.
Analyze and integrate Kafka for event-driven architecture where required.
Communicate proactively with stakeholders, providing critical feedback and insights to enhance project outcomes.
Skill Requirements
6-7+ years of hands-on experience with Pega, including Pega 7 and Pega 8.
PEGA CSSA Certification (Certified Senior System Architect); PEGA LSA (Lead System Architect) certification highly preferred.
Strong understanding of Pega architecture: Enterprise-class design, Application layer cake, Data Modeling, and Rule resolution.
Expertise in Case Management, flow design, Data Pages, and Log Analysis.
Experience with Pega background processing (Job Schedulers, Queue Processors).
Solid hands-on integration experience with external systems.
Proven experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
Proficiency with CI/CD tools and automation testing frameworks.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback.
Other Requirements (Optional)
Experience working on banking projects is highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of server, database, and node classification.
Experience with Pega 8 migration and Kafka integration is strongly preferred.
Willingness to relocate or travel within the EU as necessary.
