Senior Engineer- Primary Design
Summary
A senior electrical engineer role leading the primary design of high-voltage GIS (gas-insulated) switchgear at Hyosung T&D India in Gurgaon. Day to day: interpreting customer specifications, preparing/reviewing electrical drawings and documentation, resolving technical queries per IEC standards, coordinating with clients/vendors, and mentoring a team of design engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the primary design and engineering activities for high-voltage GIS switchgear.
Interpret and analyse customer specifications to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
Prepare and review electrical drawings and technical documentation.
Address technical queries related to GIS products and ensure adherence to IEC standards.
Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams for project execution.
Guide and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical expertise and support.
Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and company policies.
Requirements
B.E./B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 6-14 years of experience in high-voltage switchgear or substation engineering.
Strong knowledge of GIS products and IEC standards.
Experience in handling technical queries and troubleshooting GIS equipment.
Background in the substation or switchgear industry is preferred.
Required Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Expertise in managing and coordinating design teams.
Proficiency in electrical drawing analysis and preparation.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
