Job Description\:
Working closely with Subsystem Technical Authorities, you will support the identification of hazards, assessment of risks and development of safety strategies to help deliver safe and compliant engineering solutions. You will provide specialist safety engineering expertise, enabling informed decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
The role also contributes to the development of robust safety case arguments, bringing together assurance evidence and supporting artefacts to demonstrate that products and systems meet safety requirements. This is an opportunity to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and make a meaningful impact on the delivery of safe, reliable solutions.
Core duties\:
- You will support Marine and Platform Technical Authorities in managing and resolving safety-related issues
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and effective safety risk management activities
- Ensure you review and confirm the implementation and effectiveness of safety mitigations and controls
- Liaise with MOD representatives and project stakeholders to support safety objectives and compliance
- Contribute to safety case development through the provision of assurance evidence and analysis
Essential Skills\:
- Knowledge of product safety management principles, processes and techniques across complex engineering environments
- Understanding of Product Safety Management Frameworks and their application throughout the project lifecycle
- Awareness of customer, naval and system safety standards, with the ability to apply requirements effectively
- Ability to support compliance activities and engage collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve safety objectives

The Safety Team plays a vital role in identifying hazards and ensuring risks are eliminated or reduced to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable.
