Senior Engineer - Security Engineering
Job Purpose
100% customer-facing position with the mission of managing technical security controls and effectively managing and communicating vulnerabilities, exploits, and incidents within appropriate operations teams while striving for internal service levels resulting and managing customer risk. The primary purpose is to provide day-to-day operation support of the client's security infrastructure or day-to-day monitoring, management, and response to security events.
Essential Functions
- 75% - Perform day-to-day management of the security infrastructure within their area of expertise and/or Perform incident/event/detection response and analysis of security events in the enterprise.
- 10% - Participate and/or ownership of project improvement efforts including infrastructure upgrades, automation development, implementation/testing of new systems. Processes, or techniques, documentations, etc. directly related to the team's goals and effectiveness.
- 10% - Interact routinely with technology team leadership (i.e. senior security engineer and/or Team Lead).
- 5% - Assist with the documentation of procedures for security infrastructure within their area of expertise.
Experience
3 to 5 years of experience as IT Security Engineer Cyber-Security Analyst, Cyber-Intelligence Analyst, Security Systems Engineer, Security Analyst, experience in Tomcat upgrade, knowledge in Linux, Vulnerability Management.
Education
Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses
One or more of the following certifications dependent on the actual role:
GIAC/SANS certifications - GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, Security+ Microsoft, Linux technical certifications preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with designing, developing, testing, implementing, and integrating IGA solutions involving SailPoint IdentityIQ.
- Experience in SailPoint Identity IQ implementation and configuration for application on-boarding for access request and approval and access certifications.
- Configuration of simple and advanced LCM workflows within SailPoint.
- Design and code rules, applications, workflows, custom tasks, custom connectors, UI pages and custom reports in SailPoint IdentityIQ.
- Creating and managing workgroups in SailPoint.
- Experience with identity lifecycle flows including leaver, joiner, and mover.
- Proven experience performing SailPoint IdentityIQ system upgrades.
- Implement system defects/enhancements for SailPoint IdentityIQ or other IAM SailPoint tools.
- Expertise in utilizing Java / BeanShell applications and scripting language solutions.
- Configuration and management of most common direct connectors (i.e. Active Directory, LDAP, Mainframe, etc.).
- Experience with role-based access controls (RBAC) and configuring automate provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Develop working relationship with IT engineering resources to drive solution features adoption.
- Experience with consultative and complex technical deployment projects, managing various stakeholder relationships.
- Strong knowledge and experience with incident/change/problem management processes.
- Ability to collaborate and interact productively with team members and key stakeholders.
- Experience with troubleshooting with end users driving issues to closure within SLA’s.
- Proactively detect and resolve or document defects for system errors impacting critical processes.
- Promote security policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Possess critical thinking skills.
- Strong communications skills, oral and written.
- Strong functional knowledge of MS Office Suite software products, Jira, and Confluence.
- Train and mentor other team members on the use of the SailPoint IdentityIQ platform.
- Ability and flexibility to work alternate shifts as operational needs require.
