The Senior Structural Steel Engineer is responsible for the review of design, analysis, detailing coordination, and execution support of structural steel systems for industrial, commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. The role involves leading structural engineering activities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering technically sound and cost-effective steel structure solutions. The person should be capable in design of Post Tension, Structural Steel design, Steel to steel connections and steel to concrete connection design.

Engineering & Design

  • Lead the review of structural design and analysis of steel structures, including:
    • Industrial buildings

    • Commercial buildings

    • Pipe racks

    • Warehouses

    • Platforms and support structures

    • Towers and miscellaneous steel structures

  • Perform review of structural calculations and design reports.
  • review of Developed optimized steel solutions considering safety, constructability, and cost.
  • Review and approve structural modelling, analysis, and design documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (IS, AISC, Eurocode, ASCE, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

Coordination & Review

  • Coordinate with architects, civil, MEP, and construction teams.
  • Review steel detailing and fabrication drawings.
  • Resolve design and site-related engineering issues.
  • Participate in design review meetings and client discussions.

Construction Support

  • Provide technical support during fabrication and erection activities.
  • Review RFIs, shop drawing comments, and site queries.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections when required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting structural issues during construction.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Support design audits and third-party reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and company procedures.

Leadership

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
  • Review work performed by team members.
  • Support resource planning and project scheduling.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)

Experience

  • 8–15 years of experience in structural steel design and engineering.
  • Experience in building, industrial, power, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects preferred.
