Senior Engineering Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

A Senior Engineering Manager, provides strategic and technical leadership across complex building construction, major upgrading, industrial machinery and equipment installation, and mechanical engineering projects. Oversees the full engineering lifecycle, from project planning, design coordination, technical evaluation, and resource allocation through to execution, commissioning, and completion. Leads multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, and technical specialists to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within approved budgets, and to the highest industry standards. Provides authoritative technical guidance on engineering solutions, construction methodologies, equipment integration, and mechanical systems. Reviews technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and project documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and quality requirements. Coordinates closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and maintain project progress. Drives operational excellence, cost efficiency, risk management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement while supporting senior management in strategic planning, business development, and the successful delivery of high-value engineering projects.

Specific Responsibilities

Individual to be involved in:

1. Direct and oversee the engineering execution of major building construction, upgrading, industrial machinery installation, and mechanical engineering projects from inception through successful completion.

2.Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, and technical specialists to achieve exceptional standards of project performance, safety, quality, and efficiency.

3. Provide high-level technical direction on engineering designs, construction methodologies, mechanical systems, equipment integration, and complex project requirements.

4. Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, method statements, calculations, and project documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability.

5. Strategically manage project resources, engineering schedules, procurement requirements, budgets, and manpower to optimise delivery and maximise operational efficiency.

6. Establish and enforce rigorous quality, safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance standards throughout all engineering and construction activities.

7. Collaborate with clients, consultants, suppliers, authorities, and key stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues and maintain seamless project progression.

8. Support senior management in strategic planning, business development, technical innovation, cost optimisation, and the delivery of high-value engineering projects.
