Senior Engineers
As part of the engineering and design team,
the outside plant designer shall:
- Create area plans, detailed
designs, and documentation according to the engineering standards and
guidelines provided for cost-optimized designs.
- Ensure the quality and timely
delivery of area planning, detailed designs, and documentation.
- Ensure safety in designs by
considering health, environmental and heritage issues as appropriate.
- Identify risks in designs and
mitigate them through due diligence.
- Actively seek feedback from
senior designers and provide recommendations for improving planning and design
procedures.
- Assist the team in providing
inputs for process improvement and optimizing design rules.
- Ensure that area plans and
detailed design deliverables are well-defined and effectively communicated.
Requirements
• 5 to 10 years of experience in
planning, design, and detailed documentation of OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP
(Inside Plant) communications networks.
• Experience and understanding of
Core, Transport, Distribution, and Access networks, including active and passive
devices across Fiber, Copper, and HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) technologies.
• Experience and understanding of
aerial, underground, and intra-building design standards.
• Experience with MDU (Multiple
Dwelling Units) design, aerial design, Pole Make Ready designs (PLA/MRE), IFP
design, permits, and CDs is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of GIS-related
platforms, systems, and tools such as AutoCAD Map 3D, Ocalc, SpidaCalc, Quick
Pole, Megallan, 3GIS, ARAMIS, IRIS, ArcGIS, SpatialNET, QGIS, Smallworld, MapInfo,
and IQGeo.
• Experience in ensuring the
timely delivery and approval of area plans and detailed designs.
• Experience in quality checking,
providing feedback to the team, and ensuring that high-quality designs are
delivered on time.
