Senior Epic Bridges & HL7 Data Engineer (24x7 On-Call)
Summary
Senior health IT data/integration engineer who builds, configures, and troubleshoots Epic Bridges and HL7 v2.x interfaces using Cloverleaf (or a similar integration engine) in a live Epic hospital environment, including X12/EDI interfaces, with 24x7 on-call production support.
We are seeking a Senior Health IT Data Engineer / Epic Integration Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf, and HL7 v2.x. The ideal candidate must be able to independently build, troubleshoot, and support interfaces in a live Epic healthcare environment with minimal ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, enhance, and support Epic Bridges interfaces in production.
- Build and troubleshoot HL7 v2.x interfaces using Cloverleaf or another Integration Engine.
- Analyze and resolve HL7 interface issues involving ADT, SIU, ORM, ORU, MDM, DFT, RDE, and MFN messages.
- Manage X12/EDI interfaces and independently resolve interface failures.
- Perform Epic-side Bridges build/configuration and support vendor interfaces connected to Epic.
- Monitor interface queues/logs and provide 24x7 production/on-call support.
- Support Epic upgrades, regression testing, and end-to-end interface validation.
- Ensure integrations comply with HIPAA and healthcare security standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Epic Bridges interface development and production support.
- Epic Bridges Certification – Required.
- 5+ years of Cloverleaf, InterSystems Ensemble, or Rhapsody experience.
- Strong hands-on HL7 v2.x development, mapping, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with ADT, SIU, ORM, ORU, MDM, DFT, RDE, MFN, and X12/EDI.
- Experience with Epic Bridges ↔ Integration Engine message flow and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting a live Epic hospital or large healthcare environment.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot production interface failures in a 24x7/on-call environment.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in HIPAA-regulated environments.
