Senior Events Sales Manager
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed sales targets for the property or department.
- Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and prospecting.
- Understand the competitive landscape and market trends to effectively position the company’s offerings and services.
- Collaborate with senior management to establish sales goals and align strategies with business objectives.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Actively prospect and acquire new clients through cold calling, networking, industry events, and outreach to generate leads and drive sales.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Meet with potential and current clients to understand their needs, pitch products or services, and customize proposals accordingly.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service, responding to inquiries, and resolving any issues promptly.
- Sales Presentations & Negotiations:
- Conduct product/service presentations to prospective clients, highlighting features, benefits, and solutions that meet their needs.
- Create tailored proposals, negotiate terms and pricing, and close deals to achieve sales targets.
- Ensure smooth contract negotiations and manage the contract process to closure, ensuring that all details are accurate and in line with client expectations.
- Pipeline Management & Reporting:
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline, tracking leads, prospects, and client interactions in the CRM system.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular updates and forecasts to senior leadership.
- Ensure timely follow-up with clients and prospects, converting opportunities into confirmed sales.
- Analyze sales data and reports to identify trends, assess performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other departments to align sales efforts with company-wide objectives.
- Work closely with the events, catering, and operations teams to ensure that client needs are met, and services are delivered according to agreed-upon specifications.
- Provide feedback to the marketing team on client preferences, competitive trends, and industry insights to enhance the company's marketing efforts.
- Sales Targets & Budgeting:
- Set and achieve individual sales targets in line with the company’s revenue goals.
- Develop and manage budgets for the sales department and activities, ensuring effective use of resources to achieve maximum sales impact.
- Regularly assess and adjust sales strategies to ensure that budgets and targets are met or exceeded.
- Customer Retention & Upselling:
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services to existing clients, maximizing revenue potential.
- Foster strong client relationships through consistent communication and high-quality customer service, ensuring long-term loyalty and repeat business.
- Actively seek feedback from clients post-sale to ensure their satisfaction and identify areas for service improvement.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality, events, or related industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and generating new business.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to prospect, negotiate, and close deals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess sales data and adjust strategies to meet targets.
- Knowledge of market trends and competitive products or services in the industry.
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel as required, including attending industry events, client meetings, and conferences.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around during client meetings or sales presentations for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of marketing materials, event equipment, or documents (up to 25 pounds).
