Senior Executive/Assistant Manager, Financial Governance, Tax & Services

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Executive/Assistant Manager, Financial Governance, Tax & Services to join our Finance team at RHB Banking Group. This role supports daily financial operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and contributes to strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.

What you will be doing

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and monitor suspense accounts to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Prepare and review General Ledger analyses, account schedules, and supporting documentation for month-end and year-end closing.
• Manage fixed assets accounting, including asset capitalisation, transfers, disposals, intangible assets and capital work-in-progress (CIP).
• Maintain accrual and prepayment schedules, ensuring accurate and timely recognition of expenses.
• Support regulatory and management reporting through the preparation and reconciliation of financial data and schedules.
• Investigate accounting exceptions and work with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and outstanding reconciling items.
• Support external audits, internal audits and regulatory reviews through the provision of financial information and supporting documentation.
• Participate in finance projects, system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT) and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Undertake ad hoc finance assignments and analysis as required.

What we're looking for

• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in banking, financial services or finance operations preferred
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger processes, reconciliations and financial controls
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
