Senior Executive / Assistant Manager (Payment Operations)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Payment Operations to support and deliver end-to-end digital payment operations within our Singapore business.

This role is designed for a hands-on individual contributor who thrives in operational environments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across transaction processing, reconciliation, and settlement activities, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Function & Key Tasks

Merchant Management

  • Manage end-to-end merchant onboarding, including KYC review, account setup, agreement execution, and system integration
  • Provide ongoing account support and resolve merchant operational and service-related issues
  • Conduct periodic account reviews to ensure compliance and service quality

Payment Operations Execution

  • Execute daily end-to-end payment operations, including transaction processing, reconciliation, settlement updates, and month-end closing
  • Monitor transaction flows and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data
  • Investigate discrepancies, settlement exceptions, delays and operational issues, and follow through to resolution

Reconciliation, Controls & Risk Monitoring

  • Perform detailed reconciliation to identify mismatches, missing transactions, or irregularities
  • Execute operational controls and checks to minimise errors and prevent revenue leakage
  • Support operational risk reviews and ensure adherence to internal control frameworks

Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

  • Support compliance with Singapore payment regulations and internal governance requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit, reporting, and regulatory purposes

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyse payment data to identify trends, recurring issues, and operational inefficiencies
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and summaries to support operational and management decision-making
  • Translate data insights into actionable improvements

Stakeholder Collaboration & Issue Resolution

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. Finance, Compliance, Risk, Product, Technology) to resolve operational issues
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth payment operations, timely issue resolution and service delivery

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Support and maintain accurate operational records, reports, SOPs, and escalation procedures
  • Contribute to system enhancements and operational readiness for new products/services

Required competencies and certifications

  • Proven expertise in payment operations, fintech, banking, financial operations, settlement operations, reconciliation, merchant operations or related operations roles with at least 5 years of experience in payment services
  • Excellent at transaction processing, reconciliation, settlement, month-end closing or operational reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data
  • Ability in process improvements, SOP documentation, operational controls or system enhancement projects
  • Proficient leadership skills in managing teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration with effective communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders such as Finance, Compliance, Risk, Product, Technology and Operations, and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Singapore payment operations, APIs, or system integrations, regulatory requirements or risk control frameworks is preferred

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Banking, Operations, or related fields
  • Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in payment operations, fintech, banking operations, reconciliation, or settlement are encouraged to apply
  • 4–7 years of relevant operational experience in payments or financial services preferred
  • Relevant certifications in payments, compliance, risk, data analytics, or process improvement are advantageous
  • Prior experience working in a China-headquartered organisation or counterpart is a plus
