We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused

Senior/Executive, Client Engagement & Business Development

to join our Client Engagement team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building relationships, developing business opportunities, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to meaningful sustainability outcomes.

About the Role

As a Senior/Executive, Client Engagement & Business Development, you will play an important role in growing SEC's certification and sustainability services. You will engage clients and partners, develop new business opportunities, support agreement development, and provide administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.

This is an individual contributor position with sales targets and opportunities to develop expertise in sustainability certification programmes and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients, partners and stakeholders.
  • Achieve individual sales targets across SEC's certification, sustainability and advisory service offerings.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, outreach activities, industry events and presentations.
  • Conduct presentations and discussions with organisations interested in SEC's programmes and services.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client enquiries relating to certification and sustainability initiatives.

Agreement Drafting & Documentation Support

  • Draft, format and coordinate business agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), partnership proposals and related documents.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external parties to facilitate document review and finalisation.
  • Ensure documentation is properly maintained and tracked.

Administrative & Department Support

  • Coordinate meetings, schedules and follow-up actions for the Deputy Director, Client Engagement.
  • Maintain organised records of agreements, client correspondence and departmental documents.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, meeting materials and management updates.
  • Support departmental projects and initiatives as required.

Events & Outreach

  • Represent SEC at industry events, exhibitions, networking sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support the planning and execution of major SEC events and programmes.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in client engagement, business development, account management, sales, partnerships, or related functions.
  • Experience in sustainability, certification, compliance, environmental services, professional services or consulting environments will be an advantage.
  • Candidates with strong experience in either business development or sustainability-related work are encouraged to apply.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to clients, partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional and ethical approach when handling confidential information.
  • Willingness to learn and progressively develop expertise in sustainability certifications and standards.

Additional Information

  • Occasional regional travel may be required for business development, stakeholder engagement and certification-related activities.
