Head of Marketing

4–6 years in social media, content creation or a related field

The role

You will own the end-to-end social presence of OWIS Singapore and help shape how the world sees—and feels—our school. One moment, you could be filming a STEAM challenge; the next, editing a fast-moving Reel from a celebration; later, building a campaign that helps a parent picture their child at OWIS.

This is not a desk-bound social media role. You will be the storyteller, camera, editor and creative pulse behind the brand—with the ownership to turn everyday school moments into content people genuinely want to watch, share and remember.

What you’ll create and own

1. Run the always-on content engine

• Create for every screen. Plan, shoot, edit, write and publish daily content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.

• Make people stop scrolling. Turn school life into distinctive Reels, short-form videos, carousels, stories, interviews and recurring content series.

• Build the rhythm. Own a sharp content calendar aligned with school events, admissions priorities and marketing campaigns.

• Write with personality. Develop captions, hooks and visual narratives tailored to each platform while keeping the OWIS voice consistent.

2. Be where the story is happening

• Capture the energy live. Cover Open Houses, celebrations, assemblies, performances, sports, classroom experiences and community events on the ground.

• Move at social speed. Shoot strong photos and videos, produce same-day or next-day edits, and publish timely updates when the moment matters.

• Find the human angle. Work closely with school leaders, teachers and students to bring authentic voices and experiences to the foreground.

• Create responsibly. Follow school policies on consent, student safeguarding, privacy and brand representation in every piece of content.

3. Build campaigns that move people

• Turn strategy into stories. Partner with Marketing and Admissions to create content that builds awareness, earns trust and supports lead generation.

• Own the creative idea. Translate campaign messages into platform-native concepts that feel fresh, relevant and unmistakably OWIS.

• Bring the pieces together. Coordinate with in-house and agency designers on campaign assets, layouts, motion graphics and other creative requirements.

4. Grow through insight, not guesswork

• Know what is working. Track reach, engagement, watch time, audience growth, content saves, shares and other platform metrics.

• Experiment intelligently. Test timing, hooks, formats, creative angles and calls to action—and use the results to make the next piece stronger.

• Tell the performance story. Share clear monthly reports with actionable recommendations, not just numbers.

5. Build a community, not just an audience

• Stay close to the conversation. Monitor comments, messages, trends and community sentiment across platforms.

• Respond with care and judgement. Engage promptly, direct admissions enquiries to the right team, and escalate sensitive issues through the appropriate internal channels.

6. Keep the creative bar moving

• Bring the next idea. Track emerging formats, platform changes, music and cultural trends, then adapt them thoughtfully for a school community.

• Create repeatable hits. Develop signature series and content franchises that audiences recognise and look forward to.

• Own the outcome. Take responsibility for quality, consistency, deadlines and continuous improvement across the OWIS social ecosystem.

You’ll thrive here if…

• You see stories everywhere. A classroom question, a corridor conversation or a school event can instantly spark a content idea.

• You are culturally curious. You listen well, represent people respectfully and enjoy working with a truly international community.

• You love both creativity and momentum. You can switch from concepting to filming to editing without waiting for perfect conditions.

• You are comfortable with numbers. Creative instinct matters to you, and so does knowing whether the work delivered results.

• You bring calm ownership. You plan ahead, handle fast-moving event days and still deliver work you are proud to put your name on.

What you bring

• Relevant experience. 4–6 years in social media, content creation or digital storytelling; experience in education, lifestyle, consumer or community-led brands is an advantage.

• A portfolio that shows your eye. Strong examples of short-form video, Reels, social campaigns, photography or platform-native storytelling.

• Hands-on production skills. Confidence shooting on mobile and/or camera, framing interviews, capturing clean audio and editing at pace.

• Creator tools. Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent tools; motion-graphics capability is a plus.

• Strong writing and communication. Excellent English copywriting, sound editorial judgement and confidence collaborating across the school community.

• Platform fluency and flexibility. A practical grasp of algorithms, audience behaviour, community management, analytics and optimisation, plus willingness to support occasional events outside standard working hours.

Why this role at OWIS is different

• A truly global canvas. You will create with—and for—students representing more than 70 nationalities and faculty representing 30+ nationalities.

• Stories with real meaning. Your work will celebrate learning, belonging, courage, creativity and the moments families remember for years.

• An energetic, multicultural team. Work alongside colleagues who bring different experiences and perspectives, move quickly, share ideas generously and enjoy building together.

• Room to make things take off. Pitch new concepts, test new formats, build signature content and leave a visible creative mark on the brand.

• A portfolio-defining opportunity. Own work across storytelling, campaign creation, live coverage, community building and performance—within one of Singapore’s most dynamic international-school environments.

Ready to make people stop, watch and feel something? Bring your ideas, your eye, your energy—and a portfolio or showreel that makes us want to see the next frame.
