The primary responsibilities of this role include –

  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings to NAIC and state insurance departments accurately and on time.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and ensure filings are in line with current guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal departments like AP, Legal, STAT/GAAP or Tax to gather necessary information and documentation for filings.
  • Share assessment invoice with Account payable team & make a track until finally filing being submitted
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all filings and correspondence with regulatory agencies.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from regulators regarding filed documents.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance procedures and policies.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Interact with onshore team on a day-to day basis responding to their requirements at a short notice by re-aligning priorities as needed
  • Should be able to understand & anticipate clients business needs, concerns & issues, and be able to proactively resolve the same
  • Coach team members - identify development areas and mentor the individuals and the team to improve their performance and enhance their skills/potential
  • Keep oneself abreast of all the updates applicable to policies/regulations / compliance applicable to the function/organization and client
  • Assist in creating systems and checks for internal compliance policies and guidelines and ensure maintenance of clear and precise records per the requirements
  • Assist in compliance adherence on a regular basis

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s in finance & accounting or a related field
  • Qualified/Semi-qualified accountant with 3+ years of experience in Compliance or regulatory Filing within Insurance industry
  • In-depth knowledge of NAIC and state insurance regulations and filing requirements.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the insurance industry preferably from Life Insurance background
  • Good understanding of GAAP & STAT rules governing the business
  • Hands on experience of working on various ERP’s such as SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Wing Sovos etc.
  • International exposure to F&A outsourcing environment
  • Experience in the Insurance and Financial services sector
  • Comprehension skills – should be able to read, interpret business documents
  • Good communication & comprehensions skills
  • Ability to liaison with multiple stakeholders/departments
  • Provide management with accurate and timely financial reports
  • Ability to multi task and handle adverse situations in a professional manner
  • Any certification in insurance/reinsurance life/LOMA, etc. preferred
