Senior Exploration Geologist - Data Integration Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist with a specialization in data integration to join their team in Benoni . This role will focus on consolidating and analyzing vast amounts of geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify and evaluate new mineral prospects. You will play a key role in shaping exploration strategies by leveraging advanced data analytics and visualization tools. The position requires a candidate who is adept at managing complex datasets and translating raw data into actionable insights for discovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate and manage diverse geological datasets, including drillhole data, assay results, geophysical surveys, and geochemical analyses.
• Develop and apply advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential mineralization targets.
• Create compelling 3D geological models and visualizations to support exploration targeting and resource estimation.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and other geologists to refine exploration models and strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries for internal stakeholders and management.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management systems and exploration workflows.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and integration.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan) and database management.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation and analysis is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of various mineral deposit types and exploration techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
