Senior Fibre Masterbatch Production Engineer / Production Line Specialist
Establish, optimise and stabilise industrial production of fibre-grade masterbatch. The role focuses on ultrafine inorganic-powder dispersion, extrusion performance and the quality indicators required for high-speed downstream spinning operations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, commission and optimise process flows and equipment parameters for fibre-grade masterbatch production lines using PET, PA6, PA66 and related carrier resins
- Lead the optimisation of nano- and sub-micron-scale dispersion of titanium dioxide and other inorganic powders in fibre polymer matrices, with rigorous control of shear and mixing in twin-screw extruders and internal mixers
- Control and improve critical product indicators, including pressure filter value (DF/PFV), moisture content and particle-size distribution, to ensure suitability for high-speed spinning applications
- Resolve scale-up and production issues such as melt-pressure fluctuations, strand breakage, black specks, crystalline defects, frequent screen-pack plugging and filament breakage reported during downstream spinning trials
- Prepare and maintain robust SOPs, process cards and optimised procedures for mixing, cleaning, product changeovers and line transitions
About you
- Master's degree in Polymer Materials and Engineering, Chemical Fibre, Textile Engineering, Materials Forming and Control, or a related discipline; exceptional bachelor's-degree candidates may be considered
- 3–5+ years of front-line production technology, process engineering or workshop-management experience in a large fibre masterbatch manufacturer or an in-house masterbatch operation within a fibre producer
- Operation principles and screw-configuration design for fibre-grade twin-screw extruders, including high-torque and high-shear configurations
- Operation and maintenance of masterbatch filtration systems, including dual-column screen changers and automatic back-flush filters
- Surface/interfacial modification and dispersion mechanisms of titanium dioxide (matting agents) in PET, PA6, PA66, PP and related fibre melts
- Data-led troubleshooting of extrusion, filtration and downstream spinning performance
- Hands-on, highly data-aware and resilient under production pressure
- Willing to work regularly at the production site to solve practical technical problems
