Senior Finance Manager, WCM
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Finance Manager, WCM based in the United States.
This is a senior finance leadership role supporting a growth-stage investment platform focused on mobility, emerging technologies, and sustainability.
You’ll own critical financial planning, forecasting, reporting, governance, and operational processes across the fund.
The role combines hands-on financial management with strategic analysis to inform investment capacity, spending, and business decisions.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, accounting, portfolio finance, and cross-functional teams in a complex global environment.
The position also provides meaningful exposure to financial systems, treasury activities, vendor negotiations, and board-level reporting.
Success requires strong judgment, analytical depth, relationship-building skills, and the ability to operate beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.

Accountabilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain sophisticated forecasting models to support strategic planning, spending decisions, and investment capacity.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models and reporting tools that provide leadership with actionable insights into fund performance, expenses, and strategic scenarios.
- Manage and lead contract negotiations with external vendors, legal counsel, and service providers, ensuring commercially effective terms.
- Oversee the end-to-end expense review and approval process, ensuring compliance with governance policies and fund requirements.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement reviews and deep-dive analyses, validating accuracy and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including management accounting and recurring monthly and quarterly dashboards.
- Lead Board of Managers (BOM) financial reporting and support quarterly reporting requirements for relevant corporate and limited-partner stakeholders.
- Review and approve financial-system activities, including wires, while supporting treasury operations and maintaining appropriate operational redundancies and controls.
- Provide strategic financial analysis to functional leaders covering management company expenses, fund performance, business scenarios, and other key financial considerations.
- Support operational initiatives such as developing and aligning authorization matrices with cross-functional stakeholders and coordinating quarterly OKR reporting.
- Serve as a primary finance liaison between the investment organization and its broader corporate finance function, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Strengthen finance governance, risk management, processes, and systems to improve operational resilience and scalability.
- Support additional financial and operational initiatives that contribute to overall operational excellence and organizational effectiveness.
- 10+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting, including experience in leadership-level positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline required; an MBA is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS, management accounting, and financial reporting principles.
- Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, data analysis, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Experience in venture capital, private equity, partnership accounting, or a similar investment environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, risk management, internal controls, and authorization frameworks.
- Experience navigating complex, globally matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities, with the ability to develop trusted partnerships across finance, operations, leadership, and external organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
- Strong systems and analytical capabilities, including experience implementing or improving software for management or financial reporting.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP and QuickBooks Online (QBO) is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively beyond traditional accounting responsibilities and contribute to broader operational and strategic initiatives.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, ownership, and ability to manage sensitive financial information.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment while simultaneously providing strategic financial leadership.
- Remote U.S. work arrangement, with the position also potentially available in New York, Palo Alto, or Seattle.
