Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a Senior Financial Analyst for the Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics team. This role reports to the Senior Director, Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics.
Purpose:
- As a key contributor to the Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics team, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide tactical analytical support for all planning & reporting activities and be part of an ongoing initiative to build an FP&A Center of Excellence. The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics team by providing financial analysis, forecasting, performance monitoring, and strategic insights to support the financial sustainability of Planned Parenthood affiliates. This role plays a key part in administering PPFA's Financial Assessment and Support Engagement (FASE) Program and the Enhanced Financial Monitoring Program (EFMP) by proactively identifying financial risks, supporting affiliate funding decisions, monitoring outcomes, and evaluating the impact of strategic investments. Working closely with Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics leadership and cross-functional partners, the Senior Financial Analyst translates financial data into actionable recommendations that support affiliate stabilization, operational improvements, and long-term sustainability.
Engagement:
- The Senior Financial Analyst, Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics will build strong partnerships throughout the National Office, including Care & Access, the Office of the President, Finance, the Data Analytics and Federation Reporting team and other teams to assess affiliate needs. The Senior Financial Analyst will participate in a cross-functional affiliate working group, by presenting financial analysis and supporting funding recommendations. This individual will support affiliate discussions by translating financial data into actionable recommendations. The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate and maintain relationships with affiliate CFOs and other key stakeholders.
Delivery:
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team, the Affiliate Quality Committee (AQC), and other governance bodies.
- Present financial findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
- Support affiliate discussions by translating financial data into actionable recommendations.
- Perform comprehensive financial analyses of affiliate performance, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and operating results.
- Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and forecasting tools to support strategic decision-making.
- Support implementation and administration of the Enhanced Financial Monitoring Program (EFMP).
- Analyze affiliate financial performance to identify organizations that may benefit from targeted intervention or funding.
- Develop financial analyses to support funding recommendations.
- Track financial outcomes of awarded affiliates and evaluate the impact of program investments.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standardized financial assessment tools, eligibility criteria, and evaluation frameworks.
- Monitor financial progress of affiliates participating in FASE.
- Evaluate affiliate performance against established financial goals and milestones.
- Assist with preparation of reports and recommendations related to affiliate financial health and ongoing support needs.
- Measure program outcomes and evaluate return on investment for financial support provided to affiliates.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial monitoring processes, reporting, and analytical tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Affiliate Financial & Business Analytics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably with a 501c(3) organization.
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear recommendations.
- Have a mindset for continuous improvement, actively looking to leverage new technologies and build efficiencies to minimize manual and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to recognize and respond to problems in a highly professional, confidential and sensitive manner.
- Excellent analytical skills with sharp attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic, results-driven, high-performing team, and act as a SME for various partners within the organization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
