Senior Financial Analyst, Prime Video Finance
Posted Updated
Description
We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the US Prime Video Business Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to use analytical insights to work directly with product and business leaders, and to build the tooling they make decisions with.
Prime Video offers customers the largest selection of any streaming service in the world, combining exclusive content available for Prime members (Amazon Original hits like Fallout, Reacher, and The Boys; licensed content from other studios; live events such as Thursday Night Football), 3P Channel subscriptions such as Paramount+, HBO Max, and Apple TV+, an expansive catalog of transactional (rent or buy) content, and linear ad supported channels with 24/7 programming. The PV team comprises individuals who are all obsessively focused on one mission: to give consumers the world's best in class digital video customer experience.
Our team connects business strategy to financial outcomes for the Prime Video Product and Business teams. You will own analyses that shape how the product evolves - what features drive acquisition and conversion, what drives retention, and where the returns on product investment actually are. While your analysis will focus on the US market, you will also collaborate with International teams to ensure we leverage insights globally.
The ideal candidate is someone who loves to dive into data and transform it into insights that connect back to the customer experience. Familiarity with SQL and large datasets is critical in order to access and combine data to iterate on new metrics and analyses. An interest in going one step further, using Python or AI tooling to automate and scale your own analysis, is a welcome addition. This is a fast-paced environment with inherent ambiguity which requires a self-starter that is comfortable working independently. They must be comfortable performing detailed, complicated analysis and communicating findings to stakeholders in a clear, efficient manner that highlights the most relevant points to the business’ strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner directly with product managers and business leaders to size opportunities before they are built, and measure whether launches delivered what was sized
- Own and extend analytical tooling that lets product leaders size opportunities and measure results directly
- Develop performance tracking metrics that provide strategic insights for Prime Video's product and business leadership
- Prepare strategic analyses, reports, and recommendations that directly influence business strategy and investment decisions
- Collaborate cross functionally to support data driven decision making
A day in the life
Some days are analysis: pulling data, building a model, writing up what it means for a product decision. Others are building: extending a tool so it answers a question it could not answer last week, or automating a report so the time can go into the insight instead of the assembly. Most days are both.
About the team
We love Prime Video, but more broadly TV and film entertainment in general. Applying that passion on a daily basis and being able to connect our work to how Prime Video delivers for customers is what keeps us going. While we are a Finance team, we very much feel like part of the business and product teams and are treated as such.
