Senior Firmware Engineer, Industrial Robotics Group
If you’re passionate about actuation and robotics systems, and have a strong interest in safety and performance, then we’d like to talk to you about becoming part of an organization with global impact on millions of customers.
Key job responsibilities
• Own the architectural design of complex control systems end to end, partnering with peers and adjacent teams to drive innovative solutions to the hardest problems.
• Take full, uncompromising ownership of the firmware development lifecycle, from concept through field deployment, and stand behind the results you ship.
• Lead functional and safety requirements elicitation, moving quickly and decisively to unlock maximum system performance for our customers.
• Drive system bring-up, root cause analysis, and systematic troubleshooting with a bias for action, resolving issues at the source rather than the symptom.
• Deliver high-impact feedback in peer reviews and communicate crisply and candidly with technical leadership.
• Engineer solutions that strike an uncompromising balance between top-tier performance and reliability, and relentlessly raise the bar on both.
• Own stakeholder communication and technical reporting, keeping the right people informed and aligned.
• Drive system commissioning and field deployment, taking accountability for results in real-world conditions.
A day in the life
As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will partner with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and debug complex, cutting-edge robotic systems, and you will own the outcome from the first design sketch to live field deployment. No two days look the same, and every one moves fast. You lead and shape design discussions, brainstorm bold new approaches to the hardest problems in robotics, and turn ambitious product concepts into firmware that ships. You act with urgency and sound judgment, making the calls that keep the team moving without ever compromising quality or safety. When it is time to prove the work, you write automated tests that validate new features and run live testing to debug and root cause issues at the source, staying accountable until the system performs, holds up under real-world conditions, and delivers for our customers. You do not wait to be asked, you see what needs to happen and you make it happen.
